And each of us had three different — ultimately negative— experiences with it. In one case, after a few uses of it (on an older mac), the resulting audio file corrupted other audio files (through itunes). Then another partner could not save the audio file.

In my case, I had generally good success with it until going back to play a recording. The file was there, but when I double-clicked on it, it opened itunes and played a completely different file.

I then tried uploading the audio file to dropbox to play it there, but dropbox didn’t recognize the file type and couldn’t play it. I basically lost a two-hour interview. Uninstalled and am now seeking something that works. I hope the developers figure it out because one thing I was impressed by was the quality of the sound. Ashhagtag, Almost perfect except when it doesn't record Generally when it is recording, the icon will have a timer on it so you can see how many minutes you've been recording, however, about 10% of the times I use this it will say '00:00:00' and then nothing will record. When I click 'Record' I don't always think to wait for the time, hence not realizing nothing recorded until the end. I've found the only way to fix this is restarting the app once or twice. If this could be fixed, then I'd easily give it 5 stars. Would also be nice if it transcribed the audio!

Or please describe your operations in detail when problem occur. I will write a review as soon as I figure-out how to use it. Many years ago, Apple had a really great simple recording program called, 'Simple Sound.” How i miss it. Anyway, I’ll keep fooling around with Simple Recorder until I learn how to use it to record my voice. Until then, I’m going to give it a 2-star rating. UPDATE: I finally figured-out how to use it. It seems okay, but it took more steps than I had expected. I’ll be reconsidering my star-rating after I work with it for awhile.
