Best pdf ebook reader for android. Unfortunately Calibre fails that test, as it just took me five good minutes to figure out how to open an ePub file on my desktop. I also don't like it that the arrow keys don't move the document in the Calibre eBook reader.

Boot camp is the system on Intel-processor Macs that allows you to run Windows XP without any sort of emulation, thus it is identical to any other machine running Windows XP (except for the lack of a 2nd mouse button and the correct keyboard layout). I suspect it should work on MacOS X if you were to use. It's also rumored that the next version of Mac OS X will have this sort of funcanallity out-of-the box. I don't think it would be too hard to port VAG-Com over to Mac and Linux, they could practically write a Linux version and just compile it for Mac with very few changes. Quote, originally posted by joako » Here is the company that makes the USB chips inside the Vag-Com, they provide Linux, MacOS, Windows, Windows CE (PocketPC/Mobile) drivers.

Please, anybody speak up if you have been able to use VAG-COM via USB in Linux. Please give any details as to what flavor, and whether you only check or set codes, which USB drivers you use, and what speed processor and memory. I definitely want/need a VAG-COM, but am unsure as to whether to get serial (works in Linux, less requirements) or a USB connection (most tablets & PDAs have USB but not always serial). I also noticed that the chip company makes a USB driver for the ARM processor-- that is the processor used in the Nikia 770 and the newer Nokia N800.

VCDS is a Windows program. It would have to be re-written from scratch to run on Mac. It's not worth it for the 10-15% market share that Mac computers have, especially when you can buy a Windows machine that will run VCDS just fine these days for $200 or less. But If you really insist on running VCDS on a Mac, Boot Camp works great.-Uwe. The VAG-COM Diagnostic System (VCDS) also does one thing the factory tool does not: Logging of live data for later VCDS-Mobile browser-based software: requires devices with WiFi and modern browser.

Hey guys, I used to run VCDS on a Windows XP partition on my old Macbook Pro. I downsized to a newer Air and don't really want to install an entire Windows OS just to run VCDS so I am researching running it on Wine. I've had good results running other Windows based software in Wine (some math/academic stuff) but it seems that VCDS can be a little difficult at times.

I have a HEX + CAN / USB Vag-Com cable, which I understand can also be problematic. Anyone else try running VCDS in Wine, and if so, would you able to provide any pointers? Anyone else try running VCDS in Wine, and if so, would you able to provide any pointers?I would firmly NOT recommend trying to use VCDS with Wine. The worst case is you really **** your car up. Best case is you save some space on your computer. You can install an OS on an external drive if you really are pressed for space. I use Parallels with a USB hard drive to run Ubuntu, Win10, CentOS, and another OS X on my Macbook Pro for work. Hey guys, I used to run VCDS on a Windows XP partition on my old Macbook Pro.
